Join us for an afternoon of Dahlias on Tap, a relaxed and informative workshop designed to help you grow spectacular dahlias this season. Whether you’re planting your first tuber or looking to improve your blooms, this session will give you the knowledge and confidence to succeed.
Hosted by local flower farmer and educator Shelley Haefner of Guiding Green Thumbs LLC, this engaging presentation will walk you through the complete dahlia-growing process—from the moment you receive your tubers to harvesting armfuls of stunning blooms.
During this 90-minute workshop, you’ll learn:
• Dahlia tuber anatomy & viability
• Dahlia forms & ways to grow dahlias
• When and how to plant in our local growing zone
• Soil health and spacing for strong plants
• Pinching techniques for bigger, better blooms
• Common pests and diseases and how to manage them
• Tips, fertilizers and growing techniques used by our flower farm
